Brian Matthews – Co-Founder, Board Member
Brian Matthews co-founded Cultivation Capital.
Brian has a passion for mentoring and developing start-up founders. He is an investor and mentor at Capital Innovators and a founder of River City Internet Group. Brian is a serial entrepreneur having co-founded and assisted in the sale of the following technology companies: Primary Network to Mpower Communications in 2000, Primary Webworks to Perficient in 2001, CDM Fantasy Sports to Liberty Media in 2006, and IntraISP to Clearwire Communications in 2007.
In addition to his role at Cultivation Capital, Brian serves on the boards of SafeTrek, S4, LockerDome, Hatchbuck, TopOPPS, Tunespeak, Aisle411, Globalhack, and the Friends of T-REX. Brian is also a General Partner in the SixThirty FinTech Accelerator.
Brian has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology and worked at McDonnell Douglas for 12 years before beginning his entrepreneurial career in 1993.
Ken Cox – President
Ken Cox is a solutions-focused Senior Executive with more than 20 years of success across the software, SaaS, telecom, and e-commerce industries. Leveraging extensive experience helping companies with outsourced IT projects and IT infrastructure, he is a valuable asset for companies working on compliance, marketing campaigns, sales strategy, or M&A activity. His broad areas of expertise include operations, project management, networking, startups, Cloud computing, software quality assurance, data centers, risk assessment, and change management.
Throughout his career, Mr. Cox has held leadership positions at companies including Hostirian, Rivercity Internet Group, Mpower Communications, and Midwest Micro Systems. 2017 finds him promoted to President of St. Louis-based internet services and data center company Hostirian, where he has worked since 1999 and had served as Vice President since 2006.
Ken studied at Washington University in St. Louis before leaving school to enter the workforce. He has held advisory board roles with Vatterott College and Clyde C. Miller High School.
Sascha Wintz – Vice President
Sascha Wintz comes to Hostirian with an impressive eighteen years of dedicated knowledge within the hosting industry, and not only strengths in conceptualizing, developing and implementing solutions, but also partnering with C-Level executives and developing and motivating successful teams. Mr. Wintz’ previous experience has taken him to Germany and France, while holding high level positions with HEG US and Intergenia.
He is fluent in both the English and German languages and has a Bachelor’s Degree that includes education in Business Economics and Foreign Trade to go along with the many Certifications that he has achieved in our field.
As no stranger to executive management, team building, data centers, automated server systems and many other assets that encompass the overall fast-paced nature of our industry and what it to takes to not only survive – but to succeed – Hostirian believes that the addition of Sascha to our staff is a valuable and exciting one that immediately makes us better as a corporation.
Brian Montgomery Jr. – Success Manager
Brian Montgomery Jr. is a forward thinking entrepreneur that has had success across several industries, managing and training sales teams to meet and exceed expectations. With an extensive experience helping individuals and businesses with techniques and structures to connect consumers to their product and building companies, he is a valuable asset for companies working on marketing campaigns, sales strategies, training, branding and culture. His broad areas of expertise include networking, startups, training, financial literacy, and culture cultivation.
Throughout his career, Mr. Montgomery Jr. has held leadership positions at companies including Hostirian, The Right Fit Insurance Agency, E-Cover Me, Wellbridge Fitness, Montgomery Enterprises and more. 2019 finds him promoted to Sales manager of St. Louis-based internet services and data center company Hostirian. Hostirian is one of the largest data storage companies in St. Louis.
Brian studied at Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville while joining the workforce during last year of schooling. He has also volunteered in quite a few organizations such as United Way allocation panel, Urban League of Young Professionals to mentoring children in low income areas such as Wellston, Pagedale, and Jennings.
