SEO or PPC? Which is better?

There are several different ways to grow your business online. If you are new to the game, some of those ways may leave you intimidated, wondering where you should invest your time and money. In your research, you have most likely seen words like Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay-Per-Click Advertising (PPC). But, what do they mean? What are they and how can they help grow your business? Both have their positives and negatives, but is one better than the other?

Let’s look at both.

Is SEO Better?

SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is the process whereby you optimize a website to appear as high in the search engine results as possible. A massive part of this process is figuring out what the search engines want and then optimizing your web pages accordingly.

Pros of SEO:

1. Organic traffic has staying power. Once you are able to get your website to rank highly in the search engines, chances are good that you will be able to generate consistent traffic.

2. SEO is often a less expensive option than PPC. When you compare the two traffic sources, SEO comes out the winner of the two when looking at traffic generated, as long as you’re looking at the traffic that comes once you have attained high rankings in the search engines.

Negatives of SEO:

1. SEO takes time. It can take months for your hard work to show any reward. If you don’t have the time to wait for your website and content to rank, then SEO may not be the best option for you.

2. You need unique and quality content. When it comes to content, people want to read the best content available. This can be a lot of work and will require research and a creative mind. If you don’t have these skills yourself, then it will benefit you to hire an expert.

Is PPC Better?

PPC, or Pay-Per-Click Advertising, is a technique that allows you to advertise in search engines, bringing immediate, targeted traffic to your website.

Pros of PPC:

1. Quick results. Unlike SEO, where you may have to wait months to see results, it is possible to start getting substantial traffic to your website within a few hours of using an effective PPC campaign.

2. You can accurately target different demographics. When you use PPC, you will be able to target different types of people. For example, if you want to target a woman in her 30s who lives in the UK and is interested in cooking, you can target her with your ads. SEO does not give you this option.

3.You can experiment quickly and easily. With PPC, you can set up a campaign and run A/B tests so that you can monitor what works and what doesn’t very quickly. SEO is a slower process, so it will take time to come to any conclusion regarding the success of an SEO technique.

Negatives of PPC:

  1. It can be expensive. If you are in a competitive niche, PPC can be expensive and your return on investment (ROI) may be low while you are figuring out which ads work and which don’t. If you have a low ad spend, you may want to steer clear.

2. Ads can become less effective. Using the same ads with every campaign will result in them becoming stale and less effective. To combat this, mix up the copy and images and refresh the ads to keep them working long-term.

Which is Better for You?

When it comes to determining whether SEO or PPC is better for your business, the answer would be that it depends. Both marketing strategies are legitimate sources for bringing in traffic.

If you want quicker results, then PPC will be the better option, because SEO will take time to work. For those with a smaller budget, SEO will be the better option, as paid ads can be expensive, especially if you don’t have experience with them.

You may want to use both SEO and PPC in tandem. When using them together, you can seriously ramp up the amount of traffic that you can get to your website!

How to Promote Your Small Business on Facebook

Every business, whether big or small, should be on social media. This means that your business or brand should be using the platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and especially Facebook.

Facebook is one of the most well-known and successful marketing tools in our world today. With more than 2.7 billion monthly active users, Facebook is the most popular social media platform in the world. That means it is imperative that your business is actively using it to grow and expand. But, not knowing how to use it effectively can hurt your chances of growing your online presence. Facebook is especially useful for small businesses who want to engage their customers and attract new people.

Facebook offers an abundance of opportunity for small businesses, such as a variety of advertising options (Ad Manager), Facebook groups, Messenger, Page Insights, Business Manager, Hashtags, Custom Audiences, and much more.

Utilizing these tools will positively impact your business in more ways than one. If you want to start promoting your small business on Facebook, you need to consider doing these things.

1. Start a Business Page

In order to be taken seriously as a business and create a space where others can easily find you, you need to create a business page. Your business needs a space of its own, beyond your own personal Facebook page. A personal business page gives users the opportunity to like your page, view your content, and engage with you. When you create your page, make sure that you come up with a memorable username, add photos to your profile and cover picture, include tons of information about your business, invite friends and users to like your page, and make it your own! There is no right or wrong way to create a business page, but there are tons of strategies to draw in more people. Once you have ironed out all the details, you can start posting valuable content. The most important thing you can do is to accurately list all of your business information on your page, such as: your business name, phone number, address, email, and business hours. It’s important that your business information is easily visible so that users can notice it right away.

2. Post OFTEN

It is not enough to have only a Facebook business page. If you want to promote your business on Facebook, you need to create content and post it regularly. We recommend that you post at least once per day. Remember, the more you post, the more people see your content and recognize your brand. Posting regularly is also great for engagement, relatability, transparency and brand credibility. Your content shows so much about your brand, mission and intention to grow. If you are unsure what your audience wants to see, you can always create a poll or look at your page analytics to help you decide what you need to change. You could also check out this article on our website that discusses social media and the content you should post.

3. Create Facebook Ads

If you are struggling to reach and engage users organically, then try using Facebook ads. Facebook ads are an effective, yet subtle tool that allow you to reach more people without bogging them down with an obvious ad. Facebook ads look almost identical to regular posts, except they are incredibly targeted and reach more people. With Facebook ads, you can target audiences by demographic or by those who like your page. Facebook collects data on users and creates audiences for businesses like yours. Facebook ads also includes a pretty cool analytics tool, which gives you a birds-eye view of everything on your site and tracks all details of views, interaction and engagement with your content. It might be worth it to create an ad and see what happens.

4. Use all of the AWESOME Facebook features

As amazing as it is to stay is the comfort zone, stepping outside of your normal routine will benefit you in many ways. Facebook has so many in-depth features that are perfect for your business to utilize! Have you ever tried using Facebook Live, video, or stories? All three features are a great way to get in front of your audience and promote your business. Remember, putting out content is the most important thing that you can do for your business. Putting yourself in front of your audience and engaging with them will prove to be so beneficial. Facebook Live allows its users to go live on air. It even sends your followers a notification that you are going live and allows users to watch later if they missed it. Facebook stories allow you to post content that will appear on a user’s feed for only 24 hours. Facebook videos are in high demand, as nearly 85% of businesses use videos as a marketing tool. Don’t forget to use these features! They could be just the tools you needed to increase your following.

5. Create a Plan

Success doesn’t just happen overnight. Well… It might happen overnight for some people. But generally, success requires a plan and some kind of execution. You need to create a strategy to grow your brand. Whether you prefer to create your strategies on a piece of college ruled paper or on a content calendar, it needs to be something that you will remember to use. Your plan should include what you are going to post, when and how often you will post, what features you will use, and how you are going to grow your audience. Creating a plan might seem intimidating at first, but you will thank yourself later! Once you have created a plan, you will no longer have to worry about creating content last minute or remembering when you last posted. Having a nice, organized place where all of your information is stored will help you track content and move your business in the right direction.

There are so many ways that you can promote your business on Facebook. But, when you create a plan, you are automatically putting your business in the perfect position to be noticed and grow. As long as you start a Facebook page, create content and post often, use Facebook ads and utilize all of Facebook’s awesome features, you will be on your way to promoting your business like a seasoned veteran. Make sure that when you are creating and posting content, that you are being true and staying consistent with your company’s brand. Do not try to fit the mold of another brand. Stay authentic and true to your company’s culture and the audience will follow.

The Best 5 Ways to Drive Traffic To Your Site

The million-dollar question is, “How do I drive more people to my website?” Well, the answer is simple! You need to improve your online marketing techniques. You can do that by utilizing a few simple strategies to attract potential customers to your website. Although there are many ways that you can do this, here are five ways that you can get started.

  1. Create Valuable Content

Content is KING! Have you heard that phrase? It is just meant to emphasize that content is very important, no matter what it is. You cannot have a website without having valuable content! Your website always needs to be providing something of value. You could start writing articles or reviews, producing videos, conducting interviews, or even adding a daily challenge to the website. As long as you are adding valuable content to your website, you are on the right track!

If you can produce good content consistently, you will see major benefits to your site. People will begin to see your website as a credible source and as that happens, you will grow your traffic organically. You can also help along that process by sharing your content on social media and encouraging others to share it!

  1. Opt into SEO ( implement keywords into your site)

Make it easier for people to find you organically by implementing keywords into your website. Let SEO do the work for you! Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the practice of increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website through organic search engine results. It is what has helped millions of websites get discovered online. SEO gives websites the chance to be the big fish in a small pond. Keyword implementation is essential when attempting to use SEO to your advantage. An important fact to remember is that 91% of internet users prefer to search for something organically.

Implement keywords into your website, so that when people organically search for those keywords, your website will be at the top of the page.

  1. Use Social Media

If you’re not already on social media, you need to be! Social media is an amazing tool for sharing content, which will help drive more traffic to your website. The more content you share on social media, the more people will see it. If your company is not great at generating consistent content, let somebody else do the job for you! 1. Build Links

Link building is a very powerful technique that will drive traffic to your website and help you achieve a higher ranking in search engines. Link building is the process of getting other websites linked back to your website. For Google to find your post, it needs links from other websites! Unfortunately, you can have the best content out there, but if search engines can’t follow at least one link to it, your content will never be seen.

This tactic is used in SEO because it shows Google that your website is worthy of a citation. If you can successfully build high-quality links, you will be putting yourself ahead of your competition. Create content that’s good enough for people to link. This is so important and it’s a great way to build a new audience!

  1. Contribute to other Websites

Share your knowledge on various platforms and don’t hold back! One of the best ways to drive traffic to your website is to position yourself as an expert in the field. This means, don’t shy away from answering questions or writing posts on other websites or platforms. Engaging with other websites could easily transition into potential customers if they see you as a credible source. You will reach a new audience just by sharing your knowledge on various platforms. Don’t be afraid to contribute to industry blogs, forums, newsletters, or other websites. The only way you could be holding yourself back from having a large amount of traffic is if you don’t try.

Remember that doing something is much better than doing nothing. If you start utilizing these five effective strategies and implementing them into your website, you will be headed in a much better direction than you were before.
